I can’t help but think that it’s truly not a Polar Bear Plunge unless a hole has been cut in the ice and/or those on the shore are standing in knee deep snow.
Of course that is just my Northern Michigan roots with a stopover in the mountains of Utah talking.
Even with the lack of snow and ice, the water was (insert expletive here) cold (or so I was told) and the 500+ people who lined up along the bridge to hurl themselves into the lagoon had one heck of a good time!
I do like the idea of plunging head first into a new year but as I am not a fan of cold water or heights I’ll just “plunge” in like a normal-ish person.
