A Loathing for Baseball

I’m going to let you all in on a little secret…I don’t like baseball.

(I can hear the collective gasp, angry mutterings and friends “un-friending” me already.)

It’s nothing personal against baseball, those who live and breathe it or those who play it, it’s just that shooting baseball stresses me out. You see I have to either be on the field (where I’m continually worried that I’m going to be hit by a ball) or in the dugout with the players which is just plain awkward since every time they swear, they sheepishly look over at me and apologize all while I insist to them that I have heard much worse in dugouts (and from my own lips) before.

This by no means implies that I am incapable of photographing the heck out of a baseball game and trust me I do look forward to covering games while soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the fresh Pacific Northwest air. It’s just if you see me at a game tapping my foot, glancing at my watch and sneaking out well before the game ends please don’t take it personally, I probably just have another assignment to get to…yeah that’s it another assignment.

    Well not EVERYONE knew it- but i never really did hide my distaste for the sport all that well did I? I even had the opportunity to cover the Mariners home opener and I said, “nah no thanks” or was it more of a “hell no!”-I can’t remember.

    My photos do look great don’t they? ;)

    Aw shucks thanks Pal! I’ll try to post more but duuuuuddde it’s hard enough to send out a weeklypic every week AND make a blog post (hence why weeklypic and posts are usually tied together) AND I have to post to my work blog! But because it’s YOU and I’m not there to help you procrastinate on deadline day (“Meegan what should I write my column on?”) I’ll step it up and bring the posts! :)
