During a recent wild art hunt (wild art hunting being an aimless drive around looking for a square or rectangular shaped image to fill empty space in the newspaper) I spotted this goat in a yard standing on her barn.
I shot a few photos then popped over to the house that the yard was attached to, to make sure it was okay if the goats were in the newspaper (it’s just polite to ask). I will tell you that this is probably the only job where you can knock on a person’s door, ask them the ridiculous question of “would you mind if your goat’s picture was in the newspaper tomorrow?” and then be welcomed into a perfect stranger’s home for a 20 minute conversation about goats and how funny they are.
As it turns out, Jill is the roof climber while Jack climbed up there once and got stuck so he tends to keep all four legs firmly on the ground.
The photo got me thinking about some of the other random “wild arts” I have shot of goats and how they really truly have the most personality of all the barnyard animals.
I’m going to even go out on a limb and guess that when the farmer’s aren’t looking, they are the animals who are pulling the practical jokes and working on their stand-up comedy routine in the barn.
